Developing a Custom BWC System for KTA and the Polish Police

When KTA approached us, they were in the middle of a high-stakes project: supplying the Polish police with a state-of-the-art Body-Worn Camera (BWC) system.
Challenge
The police needed a platform to record, upload, and manage BWC footage while ensuring secure evidence handling. The solution had to pass rigorous testing at the National Institute of Telecommunications.

Full Case Study

The requirements were extensive. The platform needed to:

  • Record and upload videos securely.

  • Allow officers to easily search and manage evidence.

  • Provide advanced filtering, tagging, and note-taking capabilities.

  • Integrate with custom-built docking stations for seamless data transfer.

The system also had to meet strict government performance and security standards, with official tests conducted by the National Institute of Telecommunications. Time was tight, and the stakes were high – any failure could jeopardize the entire contract.

What We Did

We built a complete BWC system from scratch, including a custom UI, a secure backend, microservices, and proprietary docking stations for automatic uploads and charging.

We took on the challenge with a full-scale development approach:

  1. Custom User Interface: We designed an intuitive UI tailored to the needs of law enforcement officers. The interface made it easy to search, tag, and manage footage without specialized training.
